Can't use hyperlink in Windows 7

Question: When I click to open a hyperlink it does not let me do it. Some message like not allowed by this system. It worked great on Windows XP. What can I do?

Answer: To answer your question and provide you solution to fix the hyperlink issue as soon as possible. Could you please explain it in more details? I mean where is that hyperlink, are you clicking it from website or word or excel document?

You receive an error message when you click a hyperlink in Outlook

When you click a hyperlink in Microsoft Outlook, you may receive the following error message: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.

CAUSE
After you upgrade to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, to Internet Explorer 7, or to Internet Explorer 8, the following registry key is either missing or corrupted:
HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Classes\htmlfile\shell\open\command

Fix
To fix this problem automatically, click the Fix this problem link. Then click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in this wizard.

Note This wizard may be in English only; however, the automatic fix also works for other language versions of Windows.

Note If you are not on the computer that has the problem, you can save the automatic fix to a flash drive or to a CD, and then you can run it on the computer that has the problem.

The hyperlinks I refer to are in e-mails I receive in outlook. Where it says "click to open" I get "operation canceled due to restrictions"
I can copy and paste the hyperlink but can't just click.
