Question : We have two desktop computers and a laptop/notebook at home, one desktop is in living room another one is in bedroom. We are planning to buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack from Microsoft's Store which allow us to upgrade Windows 7 on our two desktop computers and a notebook.
One of our desktop computer is running Windows XP and Windows Vista is running on both desktop and laptop.
Before buying Windows 7 Family Pack I just want to know which edition of Windows XP and Windows Vista is installed on our computers and how to check that?
Answer : If you want to find out which edition of Windows Vista (same applies to Windows 7) you have on your PC, follow these steps.
Click on Start button, right-click on Computer and then click on Properties from the context-menu. It will open System window, the edition of Windows Vista is displayed under Windows edition near the top of the window.
Follow these steps to check which edition of Windows XP you have.
Click on Start button, Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties from the context-menu. The edition of Windows XP is displayed under System near the top of the window.
